The coast featured heavily in my weddings this year and I loved it – from Whitby to Eastbourne. And more wonderful London and Brighton city weddings. I’ve also had a gorgeous winter Oxford countryside wedding, a few New Forest beauties, some in rural Sussex (which holds a special place in my heart since I up’ed sticks from Brighton to my East Sussex cottage retreat this year!) and a super relaxed wedding in an incredible secret woodland location. I’ve mentored a number of photographers and ran a workshop. I also launched my refreshed commercial website back in the summer which carries on focusing mainly on food photography – exciting commissions are coming in thick and fast and it really influences my wedding work. Taking a big step back from social media allowed me a lot more time to work on personal projects too, the main one being my food and lifestyle blog retrEAT. I can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store but one thing’s for sure, the feedback from my couples has been better than ever which makes my heart sing so you can expect more of the same from me next year!
Another huge thing for me this year is that experienced the joy that is photographing adoptions – for privacy reasons I’m not able to share the images but seeing children who have had a troublesome past finally be officially part of the family they love and adore (having been with them in a fostering process) is incredible. And to be able to document that is a massive honour and privilege.
Thanks so much to all my amazing couples, clients and all the other brilliant people I met in 2014.
